The hard player: Darren Bent
Born on 6 February 1984 in Tooting, England, Darren Bent is a striker who spent the bulk of his career criss-crossing the English football pyramid. Ipswich Town remains his landmark club in terms of sheer output: 141 matches, 56 goals. Charlton Athletic also brought out the best in him, with 37 goals in 79 matches.
He then moved on to Tottenham Hotspur (25 goals in 79 matches) and Aston Villa (25 goals in 72 matches), before seeing out his career at Derby County (16 goals in 67 matches). In England’s youth ranks, he had already shown his sharp instincts at under-15 level: 7 goals in 8 matches.

Born on 12 January 1994 in Frankfurt, Emre Can is a German midfielder-defender shaped by the German football system. Versatile and tireless, he made his name at Liverpool FC, where he played 167 matches and scored 14 goals, before joining Juventus FC (45 matches, 4 goals).
It is above all at Borussia Dortmund that he settled in for the long haul: 205 matches and 21 goals in total in the yellow and black. With Germany, he cut his teeth in youth football from an early age, including at under-17 level (23 matches, 3 goals).
The easy player: Eusébio
Born on 25 January 1942 in Lourenço Marques, in Portuguese Mozambique, Eusébio is a central figure in the history of Portuguese football. A striker of devastating efficiency, he built his career at Benfica Lisbonne, where he scored 473 goals in 440 matches – a number that speaks for itself.
With Portugal, he wore the national shirt 64 times and scored 41 goals. After his great spell at Benfica, he extended his adventure to North America with Toronto Metros-Croatia (18 goals in 25 matches) and Las Vegas Quicksilvers, before a stint at SC Beira-Mar. He passed away on 5 January 2014.
